Biosynthesis of nanomaterials is becoming more and more popular among the researchers in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. There are ‘N’ numbers of reasons in support of it. Researchers are exploiting plant extracts, bacteria, fungi, actinomycete etc. as the source of reducing and stabilizing agents of nanomaterials. Unending number of natural resources with various species of flora and fauna, good results with fewer efforts are mainly attracting researchers in this field. However, every system has two sides; biosynthesis of nanomaterials is also concern to it. In this article attempt has been made to critically evaluate the pros and cons of biosynthesis of nanomaterials in the existing conditions. Agri-ecosystem, aqua-ecosystem, aerobic-ecosystem and anaerobic-ecosystem and their combinations are connected to the pros and cons of biosynthesis of nanomaterials. However, the human attitude is very important and prime requirement should be considered without failure in this context.
